Blue Marlin Kona, Hawaii

The 42-foot Uniflite, VIXEN, was on the 1,000-fathom ledge outside of Kealakekua Bay when Capt. Rennie Boyd's 130 Penn International began to sing and 130-lb test line started melting off the reel's spool. They had been baiting with a 20-lb shibi so they knew the fish was big. Mark Wilby hit the fighting chair and battled with the big marlin for an hour before they boated it.
