Capt. Zezito Tavares on Hemingway released an 1,100 lbs. Blue Marlin. . This is the 2nd for Capt. Taveres in the Cape Verdes after weighing an 1,104 earlier this year. This is the 4th Grander caught in the Cape Verdes in 2015

Angler Kevin Jongschaap on Tudo Fish caught the fish of hie lifetime, releasing an estimated 1,100 lbs. Blue Marlin. This is only the 2nd Grander caught in these waters. The fish was caught on bait-and-switch using an 8” Moldraft Chugger with a Horse Ballyhoo. It took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get her to the boat on 80# tackle. You will notice that she is bill-less, the first we have seen on a Blue Marlin over 1,000 lbs.

Capt. Russell Caporn on Kaizen released an 1,100 lbs. Black Marlin for Angler David Trask. David has been fishing for 9-Years trying to get his first Grander and finally got this beauty. This is the 19th Grander of the Year on the Great Barrier Reef reported to us this season.

Capt. Dean Beech on On Site released this beauty of a Black Marlin that he called 1,100 lbs. Over a 3-Day trip, the boys on the On Site managed to release a 950 lbs. Black Marlin as well. Tremendous effort and a great start to the season.

It has been a good year for the big girls on the Great Barrier Reef and Capt. Daniel McCarthy has been taking advantage of it. Moana III released this beast of a Black Marlin, one that he called 1,100+. He called this one a “wild fish” and it took 3 1/2 Hours to get her to the boat. This is his 2nd Grander Black Marlin of the season.
