This was a solo catch for Gilbert Hun with a fight time of 10 hours. About 8 hours into the fight, Victor Rapoza dropped off Bubba Kalama to help Gilbert handline the monster fish. They arrived at the dock around 10 p.m. and found the scale batteries were dead so this weight was reached using the commonly accepted method of calculating marlin weight.

Blue Marlin Madeira

We have our 5th Grander of the Year and no surprise it came from Madeira. Within the last week, Capt. Gerard “Frothy” de Silva and Team Pesca Grossa have won the World Cup, released four (4) Blue Marlin over 500 lbs in a Day and now his 1st Grander as Captain. They measured the fish with a 141” Short and a 77” Girth (1,050 lbs) and then released her in good condition
