Blue Marlin Cape Verde Islands

It took until May to get our First Grander of the Year, but it was worth the wait. Capt. Randy Hodgekiss on Dreamin’ On weighed a 1,290 lbs. Blue Marlin. This is what we call a “historical fish” as she is the 7th Largest Blue Marlin ever to be weighed in the Atlantic. The last year has been very interesting on large Blue Marlin in the Atlantic with the 1,254 lbs. Blue Marlin caught in the Cape Verdes on Big Oh and the 1,305 lbs. Blue Marlin caught on Harmattan in Ascension Island. In a 12-Month span, we have added three (3) Top 10 fish in the History of our sport in the Atlantic (and yes the Pacific has some nice ones too).

Blue Marlin Oahu, Hawaii

While trolling outside the town of Waianae on Oahu's leeward coast, a giant marlin attacked and ate two lures in the QUE-LARGO's spread. Capt. Gary Largo and his fishing partner Nasario Quemado Jr. battled the fish for three and a half hours before securing it boatside. When the fish was weighed, it bottomed-out the scales and its bill was still on the ground.
