Heiko Steinmetz on the Black Marlin, weighed a 1,037 lbs. Blue Marlin. The fish had a 146” Short Measurement and a 77” Girth Measurement. Heiko had been fishing for twelve days straight without a bite, before this fish got hooked. At first, he was not sure how big she was, but when he could not slow her down and was almost spooled, he realized he had a good one. He was fishing with a couple locals, but had to gaff the fish himself. This is the first Grander in the Cape Verdes since 2016, which also was caught by Mr. Steinmetz. In fact, this is the 4th Grander for him, which we believe to be a record on number of Blue Marlin Granders caught by one Angler.
