Blue Marlin Oahu, Hawaii
The KAMANU KAI with Ms. Gerry Ho at the helm was outside of the town of Kahuku on Oahu's windward coast when a huge marlin swallowed a lure in their wake. The fish was fought by Vivian Kekahuna and Larry Ho for 11/2 hours using a Penn International 130ST.
Blue Marlin Oahu, Hawaii
The Island of Oahu has produced another Grander, this one a 1,008 lbs. Blue Marlin for Jeordie Rahaim. The fish took a small 7” lure, but elephants eat peanuts with this girl sporting a 80” Girth and a 126” Short Measurement
Blue Marlin Kauai, Hawaii
Chuck Blesso was fishing aboard the 35-foot Bertram, the POMAIKAI, with Capt. Harry Shigekane and deckhands Serafin Duterte and Florencio. The marlin ate a strawberry-colored Shiroma lure running from the center rigger position. Chuck battled the blue with a 14/0 Penn Senator reel and 180-lb test line.
Blue Marlin Kona, Hawaii
Ernie France ventured out of Kona aboard the HOLOHOLO with veteran Capt. Doug Pattengill at the helm. They returned victorious from their trip with a 1,008-lb blue marlin... a rare catch at any time, but particularly so because it was January and far from peak marlin season in the islands.
