Capt. Bob Jones on Iceman released a 1,000 lbs Black Marlin. On the same day, Capt. Dean Beech and crew released a 950 lbs black marlin as well. Looks like the big girls are biting again. This is the 8th Grander on the GBR for the 2011 season

Capt. Luke Fallon on Kekoa released a 1,000 lbs black marlin. This is their first of the season and the 7th for the fleet fishing the Great Barrier Reef. Jarad “Dingo” Boshammer on the leader. For more information go to Kekoa’s website.

Blue Marlin Grand Canary

While fishing the Puerto Rico Grand Canary Tournament, the boys on the IBO scored a big surprise. Fishing in less than 150′ feet of water, the crew was surprised when the largest fish of their lives grabbed one one of the smallest lures in the spread. Fishing had been slow in the tournament, with this fish being the biggest highlight. Angler was Valentin Guzman Navarro Garcias. Fish was estimated at over 1,000 lbs with some estimates as large as 1,100 lbs.

Blue Marlin Algarve, Portugal

Capt. Tiago Palma and Gerhard Drescher on the Blue Shark released a 1,000 lbs Blue Marlin while fishing in the Albufeira Big Game Challenge. The lure that was used was one of Gerhard’s Black Shell lures
