Capt. Joe Marks Sr. was piloting his 24-foot Radon TO THE MAX about 2 miles south of Kailua Kona when a monster marlin hooked up. William and Nathan teamed up on the fish that was hooked to a reel loaded with 180-lb test line and 51/2 hours later they brought the enormous fish to gaff.

Marty Bates made a guest appearance after the two man crew of Lukas and Marco realized they needed an extra hand. This is tied for the 11th Largest Blue Marlin ever caught in the Atlantic, matching the 1,254 caught in the Cape Verdes on the Big Oh in 2015. Robert Waryas was a first-time fisherman on a share charter when 23-year-old Capt. Marlin Parker of the ISLANDER hooked him to a piece of history. At the time of this capture, this marlin was the largest blue marlin ever taken on 80-lb test line. Robert angled the fish using a Fin-Nor reel after it struck a homemade lure. Douglas Haigh crewed the back deck and made Robert's catch a success.
