First Grander of 2010!

Marlin Magic Grander Blue

Kona, HI – We have been saying all year that the first Grander was going to come from Kona. Sure enough, Kona proved again that is produces BIG FISH. Congratulation to Capt. Jason Holtz on the Marlin Magic for catching this impressive 1.104 lbs. Pacific Blue Marlin. This is Jason’s first Pacific Grander, but his third in total.

Fish hit a medium size Marlin Magic bullet with an estimated fight time of 2 Hours.

Congratulations again to Captain and Crew for an impressive catch.

  1. Do the fish in this section have to be killed and weighed to be counted ?

    • Roddy – Not at all. We wanted to count the potential grander in Ascension, but Olaf did not think it went 1,000. We anticipate and hope a few from the Canary Islands and Madeira will be counted without weighing and no doubt Australia will produce quite a few.
